Welcome to Historic New Almaden

Welcome to Historic New Almaden

The historic town of New Almaden is nesteled in the Capitancillo Hills, twelve miles south of downtown San Jose California, and right at the base of the Quicksilver Mine (now a park). The Quicksilver mine was established in 1846, making it Califoria's oldest mine. In 1976 the property was purchased by the Santa Clara county and today, serves as beautiful park filled with hiking trails and scenic views.
